Is there a reason for Will Ferrell?

Ferrells latest movie "Holmes and Watson" Has a decent supporting cast, a recognised central character and theme with a string of successful incarnations behind it, and a prime holiday release. Sadly it also has Will Ferrell.
“There was once a time when Will Ferrell made funny movies,” BluRay.com said. I disagree. I have never seen this person be even vaguely entertaining in anything. Let alone funny. Hes the kind of actor who makes Adam Sandler look good.
Homes and Watson has been roundly caned by the critics. But its just not enough. People should suffer for committing this atrocity. Ferrell should be made to apologise for his existence.

Could be a generational thing.
I mean there are a loooot of really awful actors of that similar age.

@Picklebobble2 Maybe.. SNL had a Golden age of Belushi and Murphy et al. I suspect the rest rode in on their legend.

@whowasthatmaskedman Oh SNL should have been killed off a long time ago.
It did have a 'golden generation' of creative and slightly anarchic contributors which made you wonder A.How that got passed the censor ? and B.Had you wondering just how close they came to the network pulling it !

But along with things like Mad magazine and National Lampoon, the second they become less cutting edge and more generic mainstream.....you gotta know when to pull the plug.

@Picklebobble2 Probably. But the current US political situation has put them back on life support, for now. Without Trump they wont have much to chew on.
