Yo why is it only women who faint when they see blood in old movies

Not hating on it, we all love old movies, but like... How can the chicks be grown-ass women who faint at the smallest sight of blood? How do those chicks handle their periods? Do they even HAVE periods or are they so malnourished they drop it? IDGI

I know the wearing of corsets restricts blood flow and can increase the likelyhood of fainting, but I think its mostly because those movies are written by misogynists that want to show how weak and frail the female character is.
