There was a period of time when I would’ve said, outright, no. But having watched a few of the more popular series (One Punch Man and Attack on Titan), there are certainly qualities I like, and series that I’d recommend.
Having said that, I find certain character mannerisms which permeate the genre distasteful; the very over the top reactions of most characters, for instance. I presume some people respond well to it, but I find it cringe inducing. And the overt sexualisation of certain female characters, too. But some people dig that.
