It's just like the book Lolita by Nabokov.Its considered a contemporary classic among literature,but personally I think its trash

Very nostalgic for both the era and coming of age. Alas, I never had a Mrs. Robinson. And as noted, would take on a totally different meaning and moral judgment in these times and circumstances. Was based on the author's own adolescent experience, BTW.
I loved it and i own it. It left me with a deep sense of sadness and loss. It was a magical summer--and I so wanted there to be a Summer of 43 that picked up where it left off- But the film says that never was. There was a sweet sexiness to it, but also a charm and a romance that was perfect for the time.
I really like that movie. I haven't seen Garry Grimes in anything since. Maybe that 11-minute love scene with Jennifer O'Neill did it for him.

Not so much the movie but the theme song is excellent
@Fernie I think I blocked a minor or pedophile. I’m not certain which. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard It's impossible to know

I have seen that movie. I remember it being somewhat bittersweet in its ending.
It’s a story that would take on a whole different meaning even if recounted now.

@bijouxbroussard yes, it was a different time then, a different culture. The movie doesn’t portray the boy as a victim in any way, and the woman is a sympathetic figure because she’s just lost her husband. But if the genders were reversed, I suspect we wouldn’t give a man a pass on this.
@Poppies We wouldn’t have, then or now.

@bijouxbroussard I was reading on Wikipedia that the book and movie are based on the author’s incident when 14, except that his did not go all the way to sex.

Lucky little bastard. Not as lucky as Sherman getting Nadia, though.
@SW-User Personally, I don’t think adults should prey on children, regardless of gender. And emotionally, many 15 year olds are still children.

@SW-User So you’re a minor ?
