Should the Israel/Christian camp be protected/celebrated/supported while the Palenstine/Muslim camp is vilified/banned/proscribed

I think it's disgusting. You can't ban/block/bar/criminalise one side while not doing the same to the other. It's basically becoming a 'religious war' being waged not in the Middle East but in countries/states/parliaments of many other countries including here in Australia.

It's not supposed to be western countries almost pukeworthy promoting/supporting Israel and Jewish people while legislating against the Palestinian people almost to the point where they don't have a right to exist.

How is that ethical? Even my friends who are some Jewish some Palestinian all hate what's going on. Very few of them take 'hate the other side' points of view. Clearly the two people who shot up the Jewish event at Bondi Beach did, but they were neither my friends nor really the sort of people we want in Australia. Most Jewish and most Muslim people are very peaceful and respectful of each others belief systems.

My bf is Jewish - well sort of. His dad is Jewish but his mum not. I only learnt when I got with him that Jewishness is passed down the female line. But he attended synagogue with his dad growing up etc. But as a teenager he drifted away after his mum and dad split up. His Dad is now in his 70s and very religious. But he has a pretty obviously Jewish name, dark hair etc. so clearly his heritage is Jewish.

Anyhoo - he hates what's going on. He hates the pointless destruction and loss of life, he really is against the West Bank settlements etc. This puts him in conflict with some aspects of his family. He's got uncles and cousins in USA and Israel and did make contact through a genealogy site with some distant cousin still in Hungary. He supports a two state solution and just wishes they could all live happily alongside each other.

@KatyO83 "and just wishes they could all live happily alongside each other."

Wouldn't that just be lovely, if we all did that instead of all the hate, the death and misery.
