About as much as I expect the Palestinians/Hamas to earnestly work towards a deal with the Israeli's to share the land.

Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster Why should the Palestinians share their land with Israel?
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sharon Really? You don't know the root of the conflict between Israel and Palestine?

@Sharon Well at some point, should you care to educate yourself, feel free to look into Israel's history and maybe then you can make comments from a position of authority instead of one of ignorance.
Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster I already know Israel's history but that's irrelevant to what Netanyahu is doing now. Even the Israeli people are condemning him.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sharon Why ask questions you already know the answer to? And what's with the hostility?
Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster I disapprove of war crimes and attempted genocide. Bombing hospitals and gunning down civilians, including children, are not legitimate actions even in war.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sharon I see your profile include's the Ukranian flag. I suppose you approve of their war crimes in their war with Russia huh?
Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster The Ukranians are defending their country against a Russian invasion force. What war crimes do you claim the Ukranians committing?
In the case of Gaza, the Israelis are the invasion force and are accused of war crimes.

@Sharon They blew up the Nord Stream. They routinely kill Russians indiscriminately and savagely. They bombed Russian civilians. Furthermore, they destroyed Russian infrastructure.
Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster Cites? A lot of enemy infrastructure are legitimate targets in war.
Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster
Looks like you're applying double standards here.
While Russia calls for accountability over some attacks on infrastructure, it continues to intensify its deliberate targeting of critical and energy infrastructure in Ukraine.
In 2025, Russia has fired an average of 4,000 drones at Ukrainian cities each month, over four times the monthly average in 2024.
These strikes have caused widespread blackouts and severe damage to civilian infrastructure.
If Russia is genuinely concerned about the protection of such infrastructure, it should demonstrate that by ending its unlawful aggression against Ukraine.

@Sharon Nonsense. You are throwing strawman arguments at me. You asked me to provide information, I did so, and you pivot to Russia war crimes as if that justifies Ukraine's war crimes.
You aren't a sincere responder. You clearly have an axe to grind and are just interested in pushing your agenda and criticizing anyone who disagrees.

Sharon · F
@SumKindaMunster No strawman, the evidence is there for all to see. You're attempting to defend the indefensible. You accuse Ukraine of war crimes while conveniently ignoring those committed by Russia, and Israel. I have no axe to grind but you clearly have.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sharon
You have a Marvel Movie interpretation of morality. War is war, it's ugly and brutal. There are no definitive good guys and bad guys, its just politics and perspective. Pretending that only Russia is to blame for the continued fighting and mayhem is a child's perspective.

@SumKindaMunster There are rules, even in war. If there were no rules, there could be no war criminals.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@Sharon
There are international rules that govern war, that is correct.
But there are no rules in war. Again, that's magical thinking.
Only the losers of wars are "war criminals". The winner gets away with their war crimes.

If Israel wanted to do a genocide in Gaza, it would take them 30 minutes to accomplish their mission.
I see Israel's fight against Hamas/Islamic Jihad/Hizbollah et al. as analogous to the fight against Hitler's SS in WW-II, where certainly many "innocent" German civilians in German cities suffered a lot. Nobody cried "genocide" in 1944 though.

No, Israel is fighting against a horrible bunch of terrorists, murders and rapists who hide in Gaza, and who are supported by a large fraction of the Gaza population.If Israel wanted to do a genocide in Gaza, it would take them 30 minutes to accomplish their mission.

@22Michelle Even before the Mandate for Palestine was assigned to Great Britain by the League of Nations (1922), Palestinian Arabs were carrying out organized violence against Jewish communities in Palestine. Systematic violence began in early 1920 with murderous assaults by groups of local Arabs against settlements in the north and by Muslim pilgrims against Jerusalem’s Jews. Again in 1921, Arab rioters attacked Jews in Jaffa and its environs.
Organized anti-Jewish violence began in earnest at the beginning of 1920. In January, Arab villagers attacked Tel Hai, a Jewish settlement in the Galilee near the Syrian border, killing two members. Two months later, on March 1, 1920, hundreds of Arabs from a nearby village descended on Tel Hai again, killing six more Jews.
The British military administration, sympathetic to the Arabs, did not allow the Jews to arm themselves.

It likely would still have been created, considering the horror of the holocaust was the main reason to give the Jews a settled homeland.
Also, I'm not sure it's hypocritical. This was an operation directed at the British in retaliation for arresting some of the groups leaders. Terrorism existed before this.
Consider the 6 day war. Consider the murders at the Olympics in Munich.
Isreal put up with a LOT, and their retaliations always had a specific reason, to prevent further killings of Jews.
Had it not been for terrorism its questionable whether Israel would exist

@SumKindaMunster You're justifying a terrorist bombing of a Hotel killing 91 people? Is you're reasoning justifies what Black September did, what Hamas did! And what terrorist groups were there before Irgun?
