I Know Someone With Schizophrenia

I know a couple people with this. I am interested in the disorder and have watched some documentaries about it. Have seen a couple stories on here where people are complaining that they are unhappy all the time due to their schizophrenia. They claim they can't enjoy anything ever, and that life has no pleasure for them. I just want to ask, is this normally a symptom? Or is it something comorbid occurring with their schizophrenia? Everything I have studied about it so far has not mentioned symptoms of intense depression. So I was wondering if there are some narcissistic elements in there. When they say that people's happiness angers them, it perplexes me. I cannot imagine not being happy for other people when they are happy, even if I myself am miserable at the time. I have several mental illnesses myself.

Mix it with bi-polar and personality disorders and it get pretty sad. I am a person that has schizoaffective disorder mixed with Bi-polar 1 and ongoing stress diagnosises. I think part of my issues are personality disorder of some kind as well. That is just what i think though. Depression disorders usually come with anxiety as well. Mix these and they are ugly beasts. To be honest, I'm not sure doctor know how to diagnose much anymore in my opinion. They treat symptoms i think,not the illness itself.

Example here. Depression is an illness and sad is an emotion. Why would you give someone an anti-depressant, for being sad. with sadness there is no imbalance.

For me its feeling uncomfortable, so i tend to never be happy.

@badgay Schitsoaffective disorder has better prognosis than just schitsophrenia.

@Carazaa It i very often over looked. Because it is unique. I still think doctors treat individuals by symptoms more than any thing. That's just my opinion based on personal experience though. Kind like they don't do blood work, like body illnesses. With that said I'm not really sure what i all have. But illness needs a label and that's what my labels are. MY point is you have to educate yourself on yourself these day.

@badgay I agree. I was only trying to encourage you that your prognosis is good, especially if you take good care of yourself. Good for you educating yourself!

@Carazaa Simply put, 24/7 with myself. 30 minutes with a doctor.

@badgay So sorry!😔

@CarazaaEveryone goes through that.
not all are proactive though. Balanced sleep and reduced stress through the right amount of alone time. I believe that makes symptom lessen. On any mental illness.

@badgay It is so important to know yourself and your symptoms. Otherwise they will just guess and throw various meds at you
