🎶What's love got to do with it?🎶
I have concluded that the only way to deal with a narcissist is not to deal with a narcissist.
Not to waste any headspace wondering whether they are having a meltdown or a tantrum over no contact.
I care not if they are thinking of me; I know they are not missing me in the purest sense of the word.
They may miss something I brought to the table that they could use, but it is not based on affection, love, friendship, or nostalgia.
If you want to really know what a narcissistic person feels when you go no contact, go back and remember the vicious things they said about others they have fallen out with, then insert your name, and you'll have a better understanding of how they treat discards.
To them, you are not the special one that got away; you are the one who will not comply.
It is our memories, our affection, and our nostalgia that get in the way of seeing the truth of how a narcissist sees the world.
People are for their benefit only.
Once a person ceases to be beneficial, they are no longer important to the narcissist, except as a character in their stories of who did them wrong.
When going no contact, people mistake their hoovering for care; it is a recon mission to see what you are about.
Can you be brought back under control, or is that door closed?
The only use for a person no longer controllable is as fodder for sympathy.
And it is still control if you respond; whether negatively or positively, they got you to respond; that is the aim.
The goal, for them, is to use you for their benefit and not to get you back because they love you.
Narcissists only love themselves.
