Sometimes love is not enough

I don't understand how someone could love someone that doesn't love them back. It's a weird concept to me. Doesn't love go both ways?

@Spoiledbrat That is if one can love to begin with. Neither of these people are loving the other they are infatuated and dependent on eachother. But they don't love one another.
@Spoiledbrat Very true and I think eventually the individual realises that. There is usually a cycle of "love bombing" behaviours if they were always abusive no one would stay. It's basically a trauma bond because the love bombing feels so real until the mask drops again.

@Spoiledbrat Narcissists are clever at seduction and deception. The *target* person doesn't even realize that they are wasting their time and emotion on someone who can't/won't reciprocate.
