For 16 years. I thought love could change him.
I finally lost hope, and left.

My ex never changed, and he was loved unconditionally.

@rottenrobi They do not comprehend love,they are too intent on their own gratification and what is in it for THEM.

@berangere Exactly.
He always asked me, "what about me?".
It was gross.
@rottenrobi I did it for nearly 14 years and he drained all the love out of me in all those years I was with him. He remarried after our divorce then he married again after his second wife. We are both in our 40's now and we met when we were 19 and 20.
I am still waiting to see how long his 3rd marriage will last before she realizes that she married a narcissist.
I give it less than 3 years.

@MamaButterfly Mine depleted me too. So happy it was a only temporary state for me. I'm full of love and fun again.
My ex hasn't found anyone else yet, anyone who is long term anyway. I know he has moments of clarity, because he occasionally sends me songs we used to listen to together, or he'll say he misses me.
I don't want to sound mean, but I feel nothing when he sends those texts. This is the best feeling of all, to finally be over him. For awhile, I didn't see an out for me.

@rottenrobi I feel like Henry is my cool uncle or older brother.
I have spent so much time in his head.
Too timid to write him,mainly as his work ethic puts me to shame.
