Narcissism breeds everything that’s toxic. Sometimes that kind of toxicity is seen in some ex military guys or the wannabes. They feel because they have served the country, their opinion and their demands automatically comes to the forefront. They don’t see civilians as their equal, but as lesser beings. They hate everything and everyone the old government farts back in the day ordered them to kill when they were deployed.

@SW-User @SW-User Narcissists are attracted to power,so they will chose professions where they can attain power and the military is one of those professions,narcissists think themselves superior to all,they have contempt for those they consider "inferior".

@berangere Thats sounds correct.

Toxic positivity = 🤢
But I never put the two together. How interesting! I must watch this tomorrow when I have time to devote to it.
She's brilliant.

I've met so many of these toxic positivists over the years, especially in self-styled healers, gurus, new age hype workshops, and cultists.
They believe it's their business to convert others to their way of thinking - so respect whatsoever for other people's realities.

Thanks for this post.
I hope it goes viral.

@hartfire And some of those "gurus" are narcissistic themselves,religion attracts narcissists,it gives them the moral high ground and the power they crave.

@berangere Light bulb moment. I would wager politics does too.

@Magenta Yes it certainly does,one can only see the amount of dictators in charge of countries across the world,just look at Belarus,North Korea,Russia,Africa,Cuba,Brazil whose "leader" is destroying the Amazon for monetary gain and the head of the commmunist party in China and many dictators from the past.

Ok, watched it. I love her realistic honest approach, it's refreshing. I so agree with her take on the toxic positivity people, it's spot on. Naive and immature is a good fit.
