Your description sounded exactly like my sadistic sociopathic mother. For the details, just read my Featured story under my Profile here. Although she was never arrested or convicted of anything, I knew how dangerous she was. When people offended her or disrespected her in any way, they could turn up dead. Or something awful would happen to them. In one situation which I well remember, she killed a woman's cat. I lived in fear of her killing me before I had a chance to grow up. She believed she was better than other people because of her powerful position in the Communist Party (the dreaded Internal Security division). People constantly praised her and talked about how wonderful she was; they were afraid to say anything else. What bothered me the most about my fear of her killing me, which I still feel was a realistic fear, was the thought that she would kill me in the nastiest way she could come up with (she liked to brag about knowing how to torture people) and that, even worse, she would get away with it due to her many powerful connections and good legal representation. Her getting away with it meant no one cared what happened to me, something she reminded me of often. The thought that she would get away with it upset me more than the idea of me being dead or even whatever she would do to kill me.

@greenmountaingal You are a survivor and what you went through was horrendous,your mother was a psychopath and a tyrant,we can also call her a malignant narcissist,sadly through the ages it is those kinds of people who have become leaders in our world,because of their clever deviousness and superficial charm that fools so many people,we can see it now,with the leader of Belarus who will not relinquish power and is crushing his people in the process and Vladimir Putin who poison those that get in his way,he will never relinquish power either,mark my word and the leader of brazil who is destroying tha amazon to build up his own wealth and kills whoever tries to stop the destruction.I could go on citing other monsters who became "leaders" for decades because no one could stop them as they surround themselves with syncophants and pulls the wool over the eyes of many others,your mother is one one of those people and she used her power where she could,my own mother was a narcissist but she appears a saint as compared to yours.I am so,so sorry for the suffering you went through.Narcissists are evil's foot soldiers.
