Blaming has been used time and time again. It has been used to control such as, "if you were a better wife then..., if you gave me more attention then ..., if you were nicer to me..., if you did more things for me..., if you had a better sense of humor..., if you supported me more..., then I wouldn't yell at you as much, I may not be tempted to cheat, I wouldn't fight with you...". Basically this is used to threaten, with a punishment, to perform to his standards. This conditions the victim.

@Carazaa I am sorry but I did not experience this, everything that was written was shared for others benefit, there was a good response from the post and I tried to find other things to share. As far as I know I have never had any dealings with a narcissist. Sorry about the confusion. I reworded the post to eliminate the mixup.
