how can i handle my mums low moods

i have a wonderful mum, we're very close, my mums is always giving me wise words of help and advice....but there are times my mum gets moody and is not very responsive...and that makes me feel down as, even at this age of 47, i rely on my mum a lot for support...ive had to put up with my mums moods my entire life.....but ive also had my mood swings too because i have a personality disorder....so.

anyhow my mum was upbeat and happy just the other day but todays my mum is in one of those moods ....and its having a knock on effect on me.

any help?

Other people's moods definitely can affect our own mood. I think most people are that way.. the way that your mom might be upbeat one day and a bit more low another day. If you want to help her feel in a better mood you could think of something that might make her feel a little better. Something as simple as doing a chore that you know she needs to do soon so she won't have to. Also, giving her a little space. It is also completely normal for people to have down days too because as Miram said, we can't always be happy.

@tiltawhirl thankyou for your take on it, i understood its just part of being mortal and i just need to allow my mum those days, because i have them as well.

Let her feel her feelings. Why do you need to handle her? Just let her be. People can't be always happy.
