Quite a diatribe of comments on this one
The world is not as black and white as when i was your age. When my son was born in '89 circumcision was still the accepted standard and my mother who had been an RN since the 40's recommended it so we went along with it. Now-a-days I would not have had them do it. When my grandmother died in '77 a local farmers' son sang ar her funeral. It later came out that he was gay and was forced to leave the community. In the 90s' when AIDs first appeared homosexuality was condemned by the religious right and annoynced as being Gods' punishment. Then a few weeks later the evangelist was caught having gay sex with a male prostitute! The entire explosion of priests raping children and getting away with it upended the idea of the church being infalible.
Some years back I met a young fellow that was transitioning. I thought it was strange but as we talked he explined to me how it was just how he was programmed and being trapped in a man's body was very upsetting to him. Just like homosexuality used to be defined as a mental illness but gender dysphoria is a real thing. In a separate incident I've known a women that was a chimera. They had parts of another person in their body. In her case she had two intestinal tracts. Humans are complicated.
In 1996, the U.S. Congress passed a law prohibiting noncitizens from voting in federal elections, including elections for the U.S. House, U.S. Senate, and presidential elections. This law does not apply to elections for state and local offices. So what elections are you concerned about and where?
Applauding assassination attempts? I think its pretty clear that Presudents Biden and Obama have said that there is no place in our society for violence in politics. Meanwhile Mr. Trump keeps making veiled threats about the coming election and setting free the insurectionists from January 6th. He seems to feel that the rule of law does not need to apply to him. Anyone else would have been incarcerated for the rest of their lives many times over. Justice matters.

@Tastyfrzz Do you genuinely believe that someone can be born into the wrong body? I do not. There is something wrong with their brain. Though if you do, I’d be interested in hearing exactly how that can happen and how can we scientifically determine it. A feeling is anecdotal. So there would need to be a concrete way.
As for illegal immigrates voting, I don’t think they should be voting in any elections. Period. How could that be justified at all?
Politicians are condemning it, as they should, but there are plenty of people, even here on this site who are doing the opposite. Presidents are above the law. How many innocent people did Obama kill with drones? How did Biden get the name Genocide Joe? They all get away with whatever they want.

@Askeladd Yes, people can be born with gender dysphoria. You may call it an illness but not too many years ago, so was being left handed. It's all in how the body developed. Some people are born with both sets of genitalia. Some of us; me included, lose the ability to make testosterone as we age. My brother was a reproduction endocrinologist at Morgantown University. He died of prostate cancer. He could have explained it all to you. I'm just a mechanical engineer. There are people on here that are transitioning and ot has been wonderful for them. Even if they do not do all of the surgeries they have been able to finally be who they are comfortable at being. What they do has no affect on you so let it be.
Voting in a local community should be open to the people who live there and not to outsiders even if they are American citizens. We've seen school board elections overrun with evangelical christian nut cases trying to press their interpretations of religion in everyone else. Enough of that stuff.
As for the decisions of life and death, no president does stuff in a vacuum. They have advisors and staff that create the policies. In the end it is the president's decision and they have to live with it. We don't necessarily get to see the reasoning behind it. A facsist dictator like Putin or Xi exist in a vacuum and their decisions are proving to be existentially flawed.
