I Have Epilepsy

Partial seizures with a warning beforehand, they call an "Aura". Enough time to distance myself really?. I was at a bar with my family once. And I felt the aura. I put my drink down, tapped my dad on the shoulder twice and told him to come outside for two minutes. I didn't just shout "I'm going to have a seizure!!" around people I don't know. But he got the message like I was going out to make a phone call, then I had a seizure outside....But away from this experience. I'm trying to put across that I have a lengthy warning before I lose consciousness.

Guilty of course of not telling people sometimes at work when the warning has arrived. This has been due to a first time with someone maybe younger, and never dealt with my epilepsy before. What do I say?..."Hey don't panic!!, but I'm just going to have a seizure!!"...Another reason I've tried and failed on my own to stand and act okaay, is because last time they called a paramedic and ambulance. And I was round and working within a minute....but should I have the confidence to tell people, Onfront of public too, when I feel a warning or "aura" coming on. I'll have enough time to reach safety.

My point here is, during work in my position, standing at customer service, I have fallen a few times, and last time I did bruise my elbow, and my index finger. And they're now concerned about leaving me alone when need be. I'm not working with machinery, or at a height or too far away from others. Just at the desk on my own, should I feel one coming on, security is only metres away, and I could tell them, and distance myself. Last time I was given a headset incase i needed to contact others working elsewhere. Just press the button and say to them.. But??...I asked about a stool in the corner, to go over too and was told it's a tripping hazard..Then was told the footstool they have there for reaching things is not counted as a tripping hazard, i said if a folded stool or chair was put away where the hazard signs are at the side, I'd have enough time to bring it out if I have an aura. And I was told "It's a tripping hazard!!. So a footstool always on the floor is less likely to cause danger than a fold away chair mostly off the floor??...And when I suggested a headset, i was told there isnt enough to supply. I then thought if they can supply expensive special chairs for people at a checkout that need it, then supplying an extra headset is least of there worries. I then said...Ill talk to Epilepsy Scotland ...they're the experts in this field....And the talk is put on hold x

Its a very shitty thing to have to deal with while others never even have a hickup in their health , This is some thing we both share together friend :)

@lovebcups it has been pretty difficult, almost like rejection from each area manager ive worked under. Only after they've found out, which is a great hint it's epilepsy related. At my interview they thought it should have been brought up, but due to indriect discrimination I don't have to bring up my medical unless there is a real life threat at work...they were angry i never told them in the interview...but i would never have been employed
