I Have Epilepsy
With everything going on, I had completely forgotten that March 26th has always been a special day for me. It's Purple Day, or Epilepsy Awareness Day. Something a girl in Nova Scotia started a few years ago when she was 11. Like me, she has epilepsy, and she reached out to the world asking for support. So, I am asking my friends to wear something purple, whether it be a shirt, a pin, a piece of jewelry, any thing purple. If interested in learning more, see http://www.purpleday.org/index.html
Many of you have been a huge support for me, and I am grateful. A year ago on Feb. 8th, I had my surgery implanting a Responsive Neurostimulation chip into my skull. While in the process of finding the right level of stimulation, my seizures have been smaller and less intensive. Hopefully, within the year or so, I can tell you that I am seizure free.
