I Have Epilepsy

I was just looking at my calendar, and realized that this coming Saturday, the 8th will be the one year anniversary of my surgery in which a chip was implanted into my skull to help deter seizures from happening. The seizures are still coming, but less frequent and less intense. The doctors told me that it may take a couple of years to work, so be patient, but I'm the lucky ones that it isn't taking that long to get somewhere.

I'll still be going back up to Stanford every three months to have the chip turned up until we can say that I am seizure free.

It's just hard to believe that it's been a year. I remember that day so clearly.

Interesting. I remember a girl, oh so long ago in Cheyenne, that had such seizures. Always wondered if she could ever get any help with them. Really nice girl too, she would be around your age now.

@DeWayfarer Thank you! I hope she has a resource who knows about this.

@silentwriter180 I have no idea. Lost track of her in the early 80s.

One can only hope so.
