I Have Epilepsy

Trip to Stanford's Neuroscience center went well. Looked at past records & tests, he did some tests of his own, mainly reflexes, and decided that I should spend a few days up there so they can record what happens when I actually have a seizure. The seizure will hopefully be induced by decreasing the meds that I'm on, as the timing is very unpredictable. I'll be getting a call to schedule it in about a week.

have you done any personal research into medical marijuana for epilepsy?

i'm just curious to know if epilepsy patients are looking into how CBD-rich marijuana can treat intractable seizures. i saw a documentary:

best wishes in your diagnosis and treatment. :)

@silentwriter180 I thought about that stuff but I was afraid of getting on some kind of a government drug list of illegal drug users since the feds still consider it illegal. I so much prefer natural remedies instead of these pharma drugs they give us.

Here in California, you would get what we call a 'med' card. You would need to get certified by a doctor of course to be able to use cannabis (marijuana) for your medication, and there is a limit as to how much you can have at any time. Also, rather than just buying it off the streets, you'd need to buy it from a certified store. I've always just thought of all that as a way for the government to control everything and be able to tax you on it.

See if you can find a 'natural' or 'compassionate' health clinic in your area, and if they certify cannabis use. There are also different ways you can use it other than smoking it. You can bake brownies, there are oils that you can add to your foods, etc. If you have any stores of that such around, go see what they have. And they might be able to refer you to someone you can see. The certificates last for one year, then you'll have to go in and see the doctor again. He/she will ask a few questions and do a small examination, and may give you a certificate there while you wait. If I remember correctly, ours were $100.00 My husband got one as well for
his chronic pain. He makes brownies. But, unfortunately they just didn't work for me. I have a friend who is going to locate some oils for me and I'll try those as well.

Now that it's legal here in California, many are not renewing their med cards, but I feel more comfortable renewing it anyway, just in case, I'll have it in my wallet.
Awesome!!!!!
