He's a good guy but thinks I should be passed my dad passing away already it's been afew months but I'm not when I bring him up he just looks annoyed

No you shouldn't. It takes a lot longer than a few months. The first year is full of first times without him there. Father's Day will be a tough one, it still is for me and it's been 20 years. There is no set time in getting over the loss of someone you love @Thehirmit87:

I lost my dad when I was in my early 30's, with two little kids. Being a Daddy's girl myself, It was a very hard thing to get past, you never get over it, but you do get through it. Hang in there. As for the controlling bf...you need to get a hold of the situation. Maybe he is being protective of you because of the loss of your dad. He might feel he is the man in your life now that is supposed to take care of you. Don't lose your own strength and let him take over. You need to be partners walking together, not with him leading.
