All the time, it’s the worst 🙄

CountScrofula · 41-45, M
This is what my wife struggles with so much. Huge desire to do useful things, but no energy or motivation.
wonkavite04 · 22-25, F
@CountScrofula Does she also find it difficult to balance that energy between work and pleasure? If I get up to fold laundry I’m exhausted.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@wonkavite04 Yeah absolutely. Some people talk about 'spoon theory' where you can only do so many things in a day. Folding laundry is a spoon and now you don't have a spoon for talking to your parents.
This happens with me all the time. There are SO many thing I want to do, and NEED to do. I'm behind in so many things. I just don't find the incentive or the energy to get moving.

Feel free to PM me if you'd care to chat.
Talking with a new person, someone who can identify and understand what this is, would be refreshing to me.

I wouldn't want it to be a conversation promoting gloom and doom, but one in which we might be able to come up with an antidote - something that might help even a little bit. Just knowing I'm not alone in this, helps me.

Yes it's one of the symptoms of depression..it's like your heads spinning but your body can't move
this will pass in time just be patient with yourself and try and love yourself and give yourself time to heal 🤗
You not alone. I battle with that as well and quite frankly I despise it with a passion. My lover has it worse than me as at least I can get out of bed most days but they struggle most days to get out of bed and do stuff..

Yes at times I'm like this. But I live with my parents they did get concerned. But I always said to my parents that I was tired that's why I was laying in bed more. But really it was depression.

Yeah i my depression can make me feel like that and some meds can make me like a walking zombie

You have to force yourself, start with the small stuff. Doesnt matter how long it takes

Yes, it's as if your head and body belong to different people.

Check your hormone levels

Yes, very much so
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
It's hard as it is getting yourself to do things when emotionally healthy. Don't be too hard on yourself, but yes that's very common.
Ooooooooo yeah. I don't even feel depressed but it's like the meds just make me lethargic. Plus bed is like maximum comfort.

If you get into the routine of being more physically active you'll have more energy
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I have experienced nearly paralyzing levels of depression, so yes.
