I Have A Loved One With Dementia

Any advice and support related to caring for my grandfather with dementia would be really helpful. He basically raised me and it's so hard, he's so loved by the whole family. Just really struggling to see this happen to him and looking for solidarity.

It is incredibly difficult to see someone you love in such circumstances. All you can do is protect him where you can, and always, always remember, this is not who he is or was. And if he has lucid periods, treasure them. If he says or does disgusting or hurtful things, it's not him, it's the disease. I really feel for you. It's awful.
