I Have Asperger's Syndrome

Hi everyone, my name is Maya and I was diagnosed with Asperger's. With asperger's from my experiences so far, affects the way i process social cues in social situations. Sometimes it makes me fixate intensely on something or someone. Sometimes i crave the routine of eating the same thing. Sometimes I can remember specific things that a lot of people just forget after they hear it.

I understand the difference with being accommodated on the spectrum and playing the victim. Some people on the spectrum think they will always be the victim, and i guess there is nothing i can do about that.

I am among the group of Aspies who wants to embrace this learning style as something that can help motivate me to be a better person.

If you have Asperger's/Autism/ADD/ADHD, what are your experiences and how do your love ones perceive it?
I want to hear about your experiences, whether you are on the spectrum or love someone who is.

I think that it is a lot more understood and stuff today. When I was a kid it was always a matter of being on the outside because the other children just weren't going to get that close to the weird kid.

I think it's all about what we perceive to be weird. When i was younger, i felt pressured to fit in, so it was easy for me to act like i didn't have it, and then small things like hand flapping with just slip out.
