I Am Autistic

I got diagnosed on the 12th of November I kinda knew I had it but when they told me I have been diagnosed I felt in shock and broken and scared its still sinking in now and I don't understand it I dont know anything about autism wich I think is making it harder as not understanding anything :(
A diagnosis doesn't make you a different person. You are still the same person you were before. It only helps you understand a few things about yourself you may not have known in the past, why you have certain issues or problems others don't seem to have.

My son is autistic, and I give you the same advice I give him... Don't use it as an excuse, or allow others to, and never allow it to hold you back. You can still do anything anyone else can do, even if it may take a bit more time and effort.

@PrivateHell it's just even tho I got the diagnosis I don't know anything about it to be able to understand myself
@KatieLouise there are plenty of things you can read, support groups and people you can talk to. Autism isn't as mysterious as it once was.

I hope you get the answers and support you seek. Best of luck.
How about just living your life and throw the label away - ?

@MarmeeMarch it's not that easy I been struggling bad and I needed to get the diagnosis to know what is happening it was the not knowing I was struggling with but got the diagnosis but don't know anything about it to be able to understand myself
@KatieLouise That's fine - so now what ? do you understand it - or are you going to go on the internet and read the posts about it and give yourself more anxiety. My advice is to talk with your doctor.. The internet is not the best place for personalized medical help IMHO.

@MarmeeMarch I have a 1to 1 meeting with the person who diagnosed me wich I think will help by explaining things to me
