I Have Aspergers Syndrome
Someone on SW asked us what its like to have Aspergers, its hard to say because we have it, whats it like NOT to have Aspergers. We do not look at things the same way as you. Example, people. We do not need to make the same kind of connection on an emotional level with most people, each other and mum obviously but our dad? He is never round much he’s a loser TBH, he’s ok as a person but we don’t love him, he’s our dad, thats just a fact, we should feel thats important but it isn’t. We have been told we might feel we are making those connects with people but that its not how most people do it. Communication is key, mum is always going on about communication but we miss that that is important so many times. It’s hard for people to get close to us, real hard, and we get it that its a lot of effort for little return some times. As a pair we try to support each other and will point out if the other is being rude or noxious, if we see it.
