I've had 8 years of chronic stress through workplace bullying. I'm also approaching the menopause. So I don't know if my forgetfulness is due to that. However, the stress makes me more prone to getting Alzheimer's so I'm doing all I can to avoid getting it. I use coconut oil as my main oil, eat healthy vegan food, and excercise. I try to learn new things. I have taken up playing the recorder again. There are other good things to help in the diet: cocoa, berries, cinnamon, turmeric, cumin. It is found that people with a healthy Mediterranian diet are less likely to get it.
