Does ADHD medication actually help you?

I mean does it help YOU, particularly, if that's a thing you need.

Recently I've really been thinking how much this might help me to hopefully be
More productive
More organized
More attentive
Less forgetful
Less impulsive
Less distracted

This is something we're struggling with. Our youngest boy is ADHD and the school has hinted that it could help him. He's hyper yes, but he can focus in school. He got all good grades. He has a IEP plan. He rarely gets in trouble or causes problems. I just hate to put him on medication if we can manage it with it

@Cigarguy101 He is ADHD? 👀
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@Nightwings yes he is

@Cigarguy101 Well damn! I guess he's the one we blame when we forget yet another appointment. 🤣

@Nightwings what do you mean
Nightwings · 31-35, F
@Cigarguy101 You said he's ADHD personified 🤭
Cigarguy101 · 41-45, M
@Nightwings yes but not sure what that was to do with missing or forgeting appointments

@Cigarguy101 if he can manage well enough with it that's great. I'd be careful with meds with him because I, as a kid was on meds
They turned me into a zombie, just tired all the time

@caPnAhab that is what I'm afraid of. I don't want that at all. Trust me I'm not against meds if they help. Lord knows I need them. I don't want him to lose his spark
