Looking for a "focus buddy"

ADHD, especially in combination with chronic fatigue, makes it really hard to start any task. Other people with ADHD have pointed out that it helps to have someone in the room with them.

That person doesn't have to work on the same task, check if they actually do something or even talk. Merely being present makes it easier to start, and more bearable to continue.

I wonder if opening a video connection could help me work my way through some of my doom (dump of organized mess) piles, as well as help to cut down on or even quit smoking and drinking, and bring some more structure to my days.

Actively talking (or chatting with the enhancement of watching each other's facial expressions and body language) can be part of it too at other times, but simply doing our own thing with only the occasional remark or question should be enough to help bring my home back in order and relieve stress that way. If you're also struggling with similar issues, it may help you too.

Would anyone be interested in giving this a try?

I can look for a mistress for you to keep you in track.
@Miram did you have a chance to ask around yet? 🥺

That sounds like a really good ideal.
@TurtlePink Thank you 🤗

I dunno, I always feel less attentive with randos in a room. What helps me is a combination of organisational techniques like a bullet journal, kanban and pomodoro technique. I also listen to music while I code, for some reason I'm more focused then.
@basilfawlty89 I've tried various techniques like that and almost all work great for planning. But it's the execution where I get stuck.

I don't like another in my room or watching me I'd rather just be myself and do it myself
@Lilnonames that makes sense if you can do things by yourself, but ADHD paralysis gets in the way of that and I'm desperate to break through that, but I'm going to need help with that.
