Say exactly that to your therapist.

A good therapist will get where you're coming from and be aware that you've developed coping mechanisms during the time you've been away and should be able to adapt whatever their overall plan is to safely accommodate you.

Is trauma resurfacing or are you just recalling a problem you've already dealt with during your sessions and recognise the part your therapist played in that ?

I'm not sure regular sessions are necessarily helpful to you if several years of it hasn't left you feeling advanced from your starting point.
But then again, maybe you just associate your therapist with a sense of safety.

Again, something you can ask your therapist about.

Hope it goes well

You may have a good therapist if they don't put you on meds or try to recruit you to a religion.

Meds are not an entire substitute for therapy.
it is kinda funny to me how we all go through so much anxiety about going to someone who is there to help us with our anxiety

@LILY61 I know, like what is up with that? Why do you think that is?
@HelloItsMeAgain we are afraid that we are worse than originally thought. or they might put us on MEDS!..

And when we talk about ourselves they look bored or ask stupid questions or say they are not equipped to handle this kind of thing.

@LILY61 That is beyond heartbreaking and sounds incredibly traumatic. I don't even know what say. Saying sorry doesn't feel like it is enough. No one, ever deserves to go through what you have experienced. Especially, when you're trying to take the necessary steps to better yourself. You're right, part of a providers job is to help protect you. How are you doing nowadays?
@HelloItsMeAgain i stay to myself, i don't work, i don't have kids and my husband is rarely home, so same old same old
@HelloItsMeAgain ...and thank you for your kind words
