Everyone talks about Hoarders - but how about serial Purgers?

@Nebula Boy and Girl? I wonder if one is just hiding their stuff to protect it from being thrown out...(Like I do)

@fun4us2b two girls. No she literally goes through and donates and donates a ton of stuff every so after. My Mom and Dad were the same way, my Mom is a hoarder and my Dad would throw away meaningful stuff

@Nebula Does she regret it afterward? Does she or your Dad give away things that are not theirs? That's what's really bugging me out....

@fun4us2b she doesn't but yeah, my Dad would throw everything away. He would throw away stuff that was meaningful to people, like a blanket that my Aunt had made who passed away

@Nebula Aww, I guess he didn't see it like that - and when you bring it up, they're just like, "It's just stuff, you can go get a new one for 20 bucks" Meanwhile that special thing carries a familiar meaning. I wonder what makes people see that so differently...

@fun4us2b some people are materialistic and some aren't. I'm in the middle Id say. My daughter that hoards stuff just buys stuff to buy it and doesn't even use the stuff, it drives me crazy.

@NebulaBut the blanket isn't materialistic it's sentimental...hoarders aren't able to emotionally depreciate things that are no longer any good, they hang on, because they think they still have some hidden future use or value. Maybe your daughter just really likes the idea and process of shopping...?

@Nebula Is she paying rent - that's usually a good way to force people to budget - or maybe create a budget with a savings plan....
