Why do men only bring up their mental health issues when women are talking about theirs?

“WhAt aBouT OuR mEnTaL hEaLtH?”

Like bro, I never see men advocating for women’s rights or mental health, so why should I do it for you?

Because they are afraid if they bring it up with their buds..... Their buds will perceive the man as weak and advocate for him to immediately forfeit his man card......

@Threepio that is an issue, I’m not denying that. But it seems inappropriate when discussing a particular issue that has affected me. It feels like a diversion. I think it’s best they come up with their own posts to bring attention to the topic. To make a change, you have to be willing to except that people will try and bring you down. I dealt with that a lot as a CSA survivor, people thinking I’m wrong for not coming forward as soon as it happened despite me being a practically nonverbal autistic child when it happened.
@666Maggotz I would agree with that.

I also feel that mental health conversations are best had with trained mental health professionals. IE: there is just SO MUCH bad advice going around out there....

@Threepio I don’t really give advice. I try to bring attention to common issues or experiences women deal with.
