I wonder if you can extend that out to say all want is sickening. The Buddhists would say the source of all suffering is want or desire..
The only counterpoint I can think of to want and suffering not being sickening is the notion that the struggle that bonzai (and others I suppose. Any growing in difficult condition) trees endure to grow is considered beautiful by some people...
Perhaps you could turn your suffering for the desire to be beautiful into its own beauty.
Chang up the game and play an uno reverse card on yourself as it were.
