Your internal monologue

Every so often I see these 'engagement farming' social media posts, but this one always fascinates me - I didn't know that some people don't have this, but the comments are always mixed.

When you think to yourself, do you 'hear' the thoughts? When you think of other people speaking do you do it in their voice?

And when you imagine something, can you actually visualise it... see the image clearly in your mind? 🤔

Yes to all of that and I can get lost in it sometimes. I had an ex who told me she couldn't visualize things in her mind and I found that odd. She's an avid reader, but couldn't imagine the story while she read? I don't think I could enjoy a book without it, but somehow she managed.

If you want to explore and expand the capabilities of your own mind, I recommend meditation. If you get in the habit of just doing 10 min everyday the benefits are Awesome. I would also recommend reading up on meditation, lucid dreaming, astral projection, etc, etc. if you stick with its amazing what your mind is capable of besides all of medical and health benefits from it.

I can imagine that on will but most of the time there's no voice or maybe the affect is so flat that it feels like no voice.
And I can visualize images quite well. Even dreams I had years ago. The problem might be that I focus on some details but miss other things, therefore I can't build the whole picture.
Both. It depends on the task at hand, and the urgency of making a critical decision.

I visualise very well and like creative tasks or projects.

Most dreams I've had I remember, in color, from several years back. They're always fun and quite detailed. Resuming where they stopped the morning previous.

I don't "hear" my own thoughts but when I think of people speaking to me, I hear and see them. I can imagine things that I can am able to visualize. For instance, I can visualize 10 objects, but not 100.

Yes to all of these, but sometimes I can't visualise people I haven't seen for a long time.
is this one of those engagement farming posts?

@mysteryespresso Haha, no! I have no interest in that.

It's always just funny to me how there's always a comment from someone going... 'what?? You all hear voices?'. Like they're the exception and don't even realise.

helsbels · 31-35, F
@vidjee8720 Is it as much as that? I thought more people do than don't
vidjee8720 · 36-40, M
