Dementia is a rapid race to the grave. Schizophrenia is a disease you can live with for decades.

@hippyjoe1955 And, schizophrenia is more prevalent than most people might think. Many schizophrenics learn to adjust in ways which make their condition less noticeable or even invisible to others. There are LOTS of "functional" schizophrenics.
