Motorcyclists that don’t wear a helmet give me anxiety.

Things can go wrong so fast for them. My uncles friend got into a motorcycle accident in 2012. The last I heard of him was in 2020 and he was still in a coma. He was wearing protective gear. I’m not sure if he came out, had the plug pulled, or is still in a coma but that’s so scary.
Very large displacement motorcycles were my main transportation from 1973 - 1989. Had a few dust-ups and broke a few bones. Had boatloads of fun with them when I got into riding and collecting antique (Pre-WWII motorcycles) in the 80's.

WOULD NOT own a motorcycle of any kind today.

Why:
1) Well for one, they are big black holes on the driveway that you throw money into.
2) No one on the road respects them anymore. It's like everyone is constantly trying to kill you. It is so bad here that my neighbors who have Harleys a nd other Big Bikes in their garages rarely ride them. When you ask they answer that every time they take it out, they take their lives in their hands.
3) Insurance costs for them have gotten out of hand.
4) I've broken too many bones over the years ... not interested in breaking any more. My house is not designed for wheelchair access.
5) I have kids now. I plan on being here to see my grandkids.

Your milage may vary - and that's fine, but I'm done playing with them.

They are mandatory here in Canada, unless you're of certain faith

Maybe the answer is to stay off motorcycles, with or without such gear. And BTW, multiple motorcyclists wear multiple helmets, unless they as a group all fit into one humongous helmet! 😂

No helmet in my country gets you a $650 fine

@SW-User here too, unless you wear a turban!
