Mental Health is for the Well To Do

I want therapy.
I'm pretty sure I need therapy.
But I can't afford therapy.

I don't have insurance, and I haven't seen a doctor in over 17 years for anything.
I've had illnesses that lasted weeks and injuries that lasted months, but all I could do was all I did and I just dealt with it all as it came and worked through the pain and suffering.

But yeah, it would probably be a good thing if I could talk to a mental health professional.

But I can't because shit ain't free and I ain't got money after my bills are paid.

It is what it is.

I'm really sorry. I"m afraid too many people fall into this same situation.

Thank you.
I'm in no danger or anything. I just feel like qualified care would help me out some.
Some people have it so much worse.

@HikingMan I understand. :(

Do you have a health department nearby? You can start there

I go to sliding scale clinics

@DeluxedEdition I appreciate that. But yes, I’ve looked into all the supposedly affordable options.

I’m not out of control or spinning out in extremely unhealthy ways.

I just kind of wish I could afford real therapy or counseling.

I have read and am reading all types of self help books and am currently enrolled in a course on communication skills for relationships that cost me $300.

I’ve been literally doing all I can do within my limited means and skill sets to do in an effort to make myself whole and happy.

I just wish I could afford the prices competent people charge for their professional services.

I thank you for your reply here.

Be well
Live happy
Keep trying,
Rob
