Is mental health a shared experience?

If you're around happy people eventually you'll be happier?

If you're around sad depressed people you'll feel low and depressed?

I think you are correct. I personally believe we adapt to our surroundings. I would much rather be around happy upbeat people.

@Musicman reading a snippet here and there may be some correlation

@Mellowgirl I can definitely understand what they are saying, but there is an old saying here in America, Bird's of a feather flock together. Basically this means we look for people like us. If we are happy we want to be around happy people. If we are sad we want to be around sad people.

@Musicman I have heard that saying.
I'm just trying to understand why I felt instantly better returning home from said environment. I think this may have something to do with it. And my concerns for wellbeing was probably accurate

@Mellowgirl I definitely agree with you. 🙂

@Musicman I think I read a while back something about living in shared housing can also affect your health. Something about good for social interactions and loneliness but actually the person with the worst health can trigger poor spikes in those around them. Something to do with microbiomes on shared cutlery and glass wear, breathing out pathogens into the air.

Yikes.

@Mellowgirl I am definitely not scientist enough to comment on this. My personal thought would be that is a pile of huey. 🤷‍♂
