I don't think I can take meds for mental health...

Every kind I've ever tried makes it worse.

Sometimes I wonder if I don't have anxiety or depression at all. Maybe I'm just a screwball and I need to embrace it.

I'm almost one week on the nightmare meds, laying here after work and my shoulders and chest won't stop shaking. I sobbed the entire first half of work. Luckily it's easy for me to hide.

I can't do this.

I can't do them either. Tons of side effects and way, way worsened anxiety. Can't take anything that alters serotonin, even in the herbal world, like St. John's Wort. Herbs that help with the HPA axis work better for me, like American ginseng and a few others.

@faery St John's Wort made me feel worse too. Strange... Though nice to hear I'm not alone, I'm sorry you had to go through it too. It's like wasting life experimenting with your brain.

I will look for ginseng. I have ways to cope, just gonna be hard and have bad days I guess.

@ScreamingFox It is just like that, and I always felt like docs don't believe me when I would report my results and just want me to try another med with the same mechanism. It always just made things even worse.

There are a few types of ginseng. I like American ginseng because it's less 'heating' and on the gentler side as far as stimulating effects go, compared to the other ginsengs. Makes my adrenals strong.

@faery I've tried over a dozen meds and I just wasted my life on this one too lol

Docs really push meds...

Thank you so much for sharing your tip. I'm all up for trying herbal remedies.
