What do you think of doctors preferences for SSRI anti depressant type medication over one that act quickly such as benzodiazepine type ones?

Do you think the SSRI ones are better? for anxiety? and depression? ocd?

I was on an SSRI for OCD that worked well...for me, anyway.

@uncalled4 Took a few weeks to work? That's what doctors say, give it 4 weeks or more to fully work.

@shanec I don't recall it taking quite that long.

@uncalled4 I took one years ago called Lexapro, it took a few weeks to fully give any benefits

@shanec That's what I was on. It was brand-new 20 years ago.

@uncalled4 Seems to be one of the more popular ones. I'm told Prozac is good too
