One thing that sucks about having a severe mental illness is that people very often mistake your symptoms as being rude or stupid.

@sarabi I can't make everyone aware. One time I went out to help a lady unload her truck at the warehouse and I started to have a flashback. She got pissed that I wasn't helping her and tossed an item at me.

Do you want me to go out next time and say, "I have PTSD and I might have a flashback so don't get angry if I don't help you"? She would just stare at me and not know what to say.

@SinlessOnslaught no, but maybe you can tell them right before an episode or immediately after. In either case, if you explain later what was going on, a normal person will not care and apologize if they were rude and impatient
