Why can't I socialize right?

Today my parents have guests, and I tried to say hello, but no one heard me, and now I really don't want to go downstairs, but I know my parents will call me rude later.

Also, when I was out for a walk yesterday, I saw people I knew and couldn't stop to talk because I didn't know what to talk about.
The person asked, "Are you out for a walk?" and I said "Yes, walk," but couldn't say much more.

I completely get it. With me, it’s not that I don’t talk. I do talk but the stuff I say is so ridiculous later I wish I’d just stayed quiet.

For the guest of your parents, if you want them to hear you, you walk up to them, so that you are face to face with with them, smile and greet them. The neighbor is more casual and there's no need to be so formal. A smile and an acknowledging nod is fine.
