Prostate cancer…

I lost one of my favorite cousins last week. He was diagnosed this time last year, and didn’t share the news with anyone but his wife. Unfortunately, as often happens, it was found too late. He survived so much; an honor student shot at 16 by a local gang member. Served in Fallujah, came home uninjured. Was a very well-respected teacher. But somehow, this was missed. R.I.P., Mike. I usually hear from him this time of year, but this time it was his sister with the sad news. 😞

My dearest condolences. These things feel so much worse when it is close to a holiday too.

I lost a dear cousin a few years back to breast cancer and I, like you, was not aware of her illness. There is so much sadness in losing a beloved family member and one from your own generation.

Hugs x
@InOtterWords Thank you, my friend. I’m sorry about your cousin, and it’s true- there’s something especially humbling when members of your generation start to die off. 🙁
