to be renewed through God is the only way to break out of the cycle of life and death, wish I knew it earlier

SW-User
@SW-User renewal doesn’t stop the suffering, but Adonai teaches us to endure
Elevatorpitches · F
@SW-User Freedom and overcoming is better though.

Agreed to a point; we bring so much suffering on ourselves through, as you pointed out, attachment... there are times life just hits you like a train... @Elevatorpitches

Buddha's First Noble Truth is that life is suffering. The Second Noble Truth is that suffering is caused by desire.
assemblingaknob · 31-35, F
@hunkalove but don't you desire Miley too?
Babaji · 80-89, M
WE suffer because
we have not
experienced our true nature within.
WE suffer because we are trapped
in our Ego and cannot see past the illusion.

@Babaji do we make our own hell?
Elevatorpitches · F
the answer is ATTACHMENT
get free from attachments and get free.
get free from attachments and get free.
assemblingaknob · 31-35, F
@Elevatorpitches Yep. Gotta work on that :(
Elevatorpitches · F
@assemblingaknob we are not our experiences much as we may believe that
get a calm perspective and remember that YOU could be anyone, by accident of birth, so
lighten up about YOUR particular existance and the ultimate mystery of YOU, and as you do, everything will become manifest and understood....
good solution for anything, right?

@Elevatorpitches yep that is the logical truth. Good advice. I'll remember.

If that's how you see it, I'm very sad for you. There is suffering, but that is not the purpose of life.
goliathtree · 56-60, M
Life is hard. Get a helmet.

@goliathtree Don't 4get 2 buckle up!
smiler2012 · 61-69
stonesandripples not at all life has its trials and tribulations and some to to be fair get more than there share but the good things in life do outweigh the bad
assemblingaknob · 31-35, F
@smiler2012 But that's the thing. The good things don't always outweigh the bad. But thanks for sharing. I do struggle with gratitude and need to work on it.
smiler2012 · 61-69
@assemblingaknob your welcome perhaps a bit more positive thinking

@Doomflower ...and a complete misrepresentation of the Messiah.
Doomflower · 41-45, M
@SomeMichGuy so you're saying his purpose wasn't to suffer and die?
SomeMichGuy · M
@Doomflower To say we are all in the same position denies His uniqueness, but, yes, the suffering was a small part of a short life which had purposes greater than merely suffering, then dying.
Chief among those is a more accessible, personal--and, thus, far more direct--revelation of the true nature of the One Who Is. The Christ clarifies God's desire to have relationship with us as far more important than judging us, also clarifying that a fundamental part of God's being Almighty was to choose to NOT use that power to smite, etc.
And if you look at His kindness, compassion, healing, advice...and how little doctrine He foists upon us...well, those are important aspects of His enduring ministry, too.
Soteriological imperatives? Yes, of course. But a clarification of Theology, proper, is hugely important, as is His bringing us Ecclesiological & Pneumatological teachings...and His Parables, etc.
