@Musicman It's smaller than a .22. There were many models of the ring gun. This one is 4.5mm pin fire caliber. Some were even black powder models. Came out in the 1840's I believe.

@Nitedoc How cool. I don't think it's from the 1800's. That is an actual bullet. In 1840 it would have been cap and ball.

@Musicman They started being made in the 1840's. I don't recall right now for how long they were manufactured. The cartridge beside this ring gun is a 4.5mm pinfire cartridge. It is a black powder cartridge. They were invented and manufactured around 1935 in France. The calibers commonly ranged from 2mm to 15mm. I have no idea why they made a 2mm cartridge!
