Usually it's used to mean someone who takes things way too far.

But I've been noticing people calling a lot of fiction things woke, but I watch/read/play those things and wonder what the heck.

I can't remember who said it, but I remember someone complaining that the new Mario Bros Movie was woke and that Peach was trying to feminise Mario

And I was like dooooood wut? 😂
Did they even watch the Mario Bros cartoons in the 90s? Not much has changed, lol
