Anyone ever take trazodone to sleep?

I’ve been on it for about 8 days give or take and every single night I’ve been having what’s best described as pure night terrors. Not nightmares but actual terrors. The doctor said it would take my body two weeks to adjust to the medication. I begged to finally go back on a sleep aid because I was not sleeping but this is bad and I just don’t know if the night terrors are a direct side effect of the medication that will settle down and I need to stick it out or if the two have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

I've been taking it for about 15 years and haven't had any problems at all...Good luck!!

Now, that's interesting. My dad takes trazodone, and he's been having night terrors. I wonder.

The wife has been on it for sleep as well a it's psych effects for years. Sometimes up to the maximum recommended dose & slightly beyond when she is very elevated and not sleeping without it. She normally doesn't remember her dreams anymore but has never had a terror from it. It sucks that it's not helping you.

I am on Trazadone for sleep and the night terrors bother me too. Not every night, but some. It's hard to deal with but I hope it passes for you.

Never heard of that. I`d be leaving that stuff alone if it takes two weeks to get use to it.

I don`t need anything to have night terrors.
