This is so true. The disorders inflammation can cause in leading to health problems is chronic.

@Wrenfern true

I think too many sweets will cause inflammation, yes. But occasion sweet is ok. The flu and COVID is a virus, often airborne. Unfortunately I think however the system in our body is, if you contract it, it will still do its mean thing..but of course a stronger immune system can fight it off sooner.

@Coralmist I agree about the occasional treat. But indulging and eating too much will cause a great deal of inflammation.

This is absolutely true!

Also, people start closing their doors and windows when the weather gets cold. If someone IS carrying a virus, there is no fresh air circulating to remove it, so everyone breathes it in.

@4meAndyou Overheating the air inside the home and drying it out is big problem too. Dry and warm air is the best type to spread germs. My uncle would tell me about the Swine flu in the early 1900’s. He said people would use wood stoves to heat their homes and they believed if they kept the house really warm that it would prevent catching colds etc. But it did the exact opposite. And he also said they would do good to get an orange at Christmas in their stockings. Because fruit was hard to come by for them back then in the winter months. And they didn’t get that many fresh veggies either. They lacked enough vitamins and that played a part in people getting sick too.
