Has anyone ever died in their dream?

I've died in dreams. First time I just laid there, decomposed and flowers grew out of me. Usually my dream state just discomobulates from the narrative it was following and floats around in silence for a while until a new thing pops up and a sense of self follows that. Basically a new dream starting in the middle of the old one.

I drowned under a pier at a seaside town in England. I felt myself dying. I'm not sure if it was actually real and this is the afterlife.
