How dumb is it to have a font where lower case "ell," capital "eye" and digit "one" all appear nearly identical??

I agree. I know someone whose yahoo email account was hacked. Her name is Phyllis, and the hacker took out a new account with the double lower-case-L's replaced by upper-case-i's in the email address. (This was after getting into her account and accessing her contacts list. He then sent a request for money to all of us.)
