Is math intrisic to physics or imposed

Is there a real relationship between certain things like with E=mc^2 which connects energy and mass. Or the inverse square law for gravity. Can we draw a mathematical formula between any two things if we want? Is it purely coincidence?

Math is what makes Science measurable and theories verifiable.

@Pfuzylogic but is it already part of the universe waiting to be discovered
Pfuzylogic · M
@Axeroberts The theories come from the imagination of men and hence the disappointment of big bangers. They were so certain that their theory was spot on and when their theory couldn’t agree with JWST and Gaia data then it throws the concept of multiverses and the age of the Universe out the window.

@Pfuzylogic but mathematical formula's and not theories such as F=ma are still true.
ArishMell · 70-79, M
Mathematics describes the Laws of Physics so is intrinsic, and we can only describe them mathematically if they form a regular pattern.

What we "call" any number is a matter of linguistics, but the patterns and relationships still hold.
